Zen Based Meditation and Mindful Living Class

In this 6-session class you will learn one of the most important practices for living an awake and aware life – how to bring mindful attention to any area of your life so that you have more charge of your state of mind and body.
– Would you like to establish a meditation practice in your daily life?
– Has it been recommended to you for your health and well being?
– Do you feel like your life is going by too quickly
– You’re not able to enjoy life as much as you’d like?
– Have you been curious about meditation, but not able to establish a practice on your own?
The guiding outline will be on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness: Body/Breath, Feelings/Sensations, Emotion/Thought, Mind Objects/Perceptions.
What you can expect:
– Instruction in Zen based meditation practice
– Whole body/Whole brain relaxation practice
– How to establish a regular meditation practice
– How to apply mindful attention to daily activities like
eating, conversations, at work, etc.
– Practices for being with difficult emotions
– Weekly simple assignments for practice
– Support for your practice development

Suzanne and others from Open Door Zen Community lead weekly Sunday meditation practice. We sit in the Soto Zen tradition and guided by our teacher, Flint Sparks, of the Appamada community in Austin Texas.

Mindfulness for Caregivers
