Occupy Appreciation!

December 6th, 2011

Many other researchers and practitioners have found that appreciation generates creativity, joy, connection, resilience, and inner peace.  That’s what I discovered on that porch over 20 years ago and it is available to everyone.

There are just a few requirements in the practice. Paying and giving attention to a specific choice is the first one.

Changing the World One Communication at a Time.

November 3rd, 2011

I heard a friend say to a group of us this morning that “We change the World one communication at a time.” Could this statement be true? How could it be true? Does communication have that much power? What would I need to understand and practice in order to have the power to effect some positive change in the world?

Two Bit Thinking of Comparison

June 8th, 2011

Getting caught in comparison can kill creativity and dampen

To state the obvious – we all need love!  Most of us look only for love outside of ourselves – from partners, spouses, family, children, friends, God.  But we often forget a most important source of love and that is OURSELF.  One big problem is that…

April 20th, 2011

In this article I want to give you a view of mindfulness meditation that hopefully will be an invitation for practice and/or support and encouragement for your journey.  At the end of the article I will give simple instructions for how to meditate.  As I’ve heard many teachers say, “It’s a simple practice, it’s just not always easy”.  With that in mind, let’s begin.

“What we live with we learn, what we learn we practice, what we practice we become”.  As many of you probably know…

March 20th, 2011

Many times it’s easy to know what to say and do in a given situation such as the everyday tasks in our lives.  But there often are times when we are faced with the need to respond or act and we’re not quite sure what to say or how to proceed.  For example, I was faced with that recently …
